GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federally funded college access program designed to increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education immediately after high school.

GearUp is a program provided by a partnership with Yancey County Schools and Appalachian State University. This program provides resources and information to students and families about opportunities after high school graduation.

Parents and families of middle school students, we are asking for your help with filling out a family survey on paper or online. The paper survey was sent home with your student or you can complete the online survey with the family link. This survey helps us provide needed services to our local middle schools.

Thank you,
Gail Branton
GearUp Coordinator
